I’ve come across some very odd flavors of potato chips recently. There are the old time favorites like salt & vinegar, ketchup, dill pickle, BBQ, sour cream and onion, etc. and those haven’t changed much over the past few decades. The same goes for variations of potato chip snacks like Hickory Sticks, Popcorn Twists, Cheetos, etc.
But I came across these flavors recently and was very intrigued by them:
The one that takes the prize for the most unique and strangest one that I have ever come across is…..
As soon as we opened the bag, the smell of fresh coffee came bursting out and the aroma was so intense that were taken aback. Seriously, coffee flavored chips? I wish there was such a thing as smell-pad, or smell-phone, or smell-pung galaxy so you too could smell these cappuccino potato chips through the device you are using to read this.
I’m not sure if I am a huge fan of the taste but they are strangely addictive. There really is some truth to the whole ‘Betcha Can’t Eat Just One’ slogan for Lays Chips. The first few bites of the chip were sweet in flavor and definitely captured the coffee taste, and then the last few bites you get the savory chip flavor. This whole sweet savory concept really has me intrigued and I see so many possibilities out there for chip flavors now. Lemon cheesecake potato chips, tiramisu potato chips, salted caramel potato chips.... the possibilities are endless!
